Michael Dopplemayr will be able to keep this example of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 whatever he does with it. The German driver, regularly seen in the 24H Series in recent times (notably with Saintéloc Racing), received what will remain as the last example produced by Audi Sport of the famous R8 LMS GT3.
The 310th and final example of a production started in 2009, with two real generations which have marked the course of the firm with rings in the category. It was Audi Sport Italia which also received the first chassis #101. 12 cars were delivered in the first year for Abt Sportsline, Argo Racing, ORECA, Phoenix Racing and Team Rosberg.
Below you can find the first version during BoP testing in 2009.
125 titles and 197 category crowns later, the R8 LMS remains and will remain one of the legendary GT3 models with success in the biggest races in the category, from the 24 Hours of Spa to the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, including the GT World Challenge Europe titles…
Audi Sport decided in mid-2023 to stop its official involvement in GT3 (with the secondment of official drivers), leaving the teams to operate the R8 LMS privately, while benefiting from the brand’s technical support.
