In this issue we reflect on the democratization of reading, an educational and cultural issue – but we will try to redefine this issue which mobilizes many actors and actresses in the book world: publishing, libraries, bookstores.

We are talking about it on the occasion of Book and youth press fair in Seine-Saint-Denis – the great event of children's literature which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024 and will take place from 11/27 to 12/02 – the opportunity to ask ourselves with its director, Sylvie Vassalo, how to defend reading when the time devoted to screens is ten times higher than that recorded in .
