The success of the great literary meeting of Toulon what constitutesthe Var book festival continued unabated, from Friday to Sunday. The event organized by the Department, with the active support of bookstores, and of course authors without whom nothing would be possible, brought together thousands of readers.
Prizes awarded to authors at the Var book festival
Among the authors present at the Var book festival, some collected “prizes”. Recognitions obviously appreciated. Thus, the authors winners of the Var Readers’ Prize were:
- Adult category, Claire Deya, for “A world to remake”, published by Editions de l'Observatoire, moved when receiving it in the presence of the president of the Departmental Council, Jean-Louis Masson, and the vice-president in charge of culture, Véronique Lenoir?
- in the Youth category, Mathieu Pierloot and Giulia Vetri for “Le silence de rouge”, published by Editions Versant Sud
- in the Comics category, Frédéric Maupomé and Wauter Mannaert, for « The Quest”, published by Editions Le Lombard.
The Marine Ink Prize goes to Arnaud de la Grande
Furthermore, the Marine Ink Award from the Maritime Prefect Admiralrewarding a work highlighting themes linked to the sea and the maritime world, civil or military, was awarded to Arnaud de la Grange for “La Promesse du large”, at Gallimard. Correspondent of Le Figaro in London, this journalist devotes this 3e novel of resilience against a backdrop of maritime tragedy, while uttering a cry of love to the sea.
The author was very touched by this award obtained at Touloncity where I was formerly, at the age of 23, a young naval officer under contract “. Toulon which is, thanks to this Var book festival, a place very popular with all authors.
