Our colleague received the short story prize for his collection “Une Certain Désinvolteur”.

The French Academy is an institution that rewards generously. As proof, the fifty prizes it awards every year to the literary arts in all their forms: poetry, novels, short stories, but also songs, cinema, historical and theological research, etc. In the 2024 list, we note the names of Florian Zeller, who has just received the theater prize, that of General Lecointre, the Jacques-de-Fouchier prize for his beautiful Between wars.

As for the prize for the short story, it went to Bertrand de Saint Vincent, deputy editorial director of the Figarofor his excellent collection A certain casualness (Editions du Rocher). This prize was created in 1971 to celebrate the short form, often unloved in French literary production; he counts such eminent writers as Yasmina Reza, Sylvain Tesson and Laurence Cossé on his list.
