A tense psychological intrigue

The cleaning ladywritten by Freida McFadden, is a gripping thriller. The novel, published in 2022tells the story of Millie, a housekeeper recently released from prison, who works for the wealthy Winchester family in New York. This opportunity seems to be a second chance for Millie. However, the story takes a dark turn. She quickly discovers that the Winchesters are hiding dark secrets. His attraction to the husband of Nina Winchester, an image-perfect mother, complicates the already dense story.

Acclaimed for its deep characters and compelling plot, the book became a TikTok phenomenon with over 18 million mentions. This craze attracted Hollywood, determined to in turn seduce fans of thrillers.

A five-star cast

For the adaptation, director Paul Feig (famous for My Best Friends) will direct Sydney Sweeney in the role of Millie. Sweeney, known for her performances in Euphoria et The White Lotus. At his side, Amanda Seyfried, who played roles in Jennifer’s Body et Lolita in spite of myselfwill play Nina Winchester. This blonde duo has high expectations.

On the male side, Brandon Sklenar will lend his features to Nina's enigmatic husband. Although rumors suggested Henry Cavill for this role, it is ultimately the actor seen in It Ends With Us which was retained.

A long-awaited release

Filming is expected to extend from December 2024 to February 2025. Although no official release date has yet been announced, the anticipation is palpable among fans of the book.
