Guérande hosts a new edition of the Brittany Book Festival on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2024.
1.-Because the event is celebrating its twentieth anniversary
This is an important edition, with several nods to previous years. In this sense, the Athanor corridor will allow you to find old festival posters and some photos.
2.-Because it’s free
This will be an opportunity to meet 150 authors, 50 publishers, two bookstores, and to participate in signings and events; without forgetting meetings and interviews at the Auditorium.
Among the guests, visitors will be able to find former honorary presidents, but also writers around the unifying theme and in particular Tristan Pichard, Dan Ar Braz, Sophie Berger, Bernard Berrou, Nathalie de Broc, Thierry Colombié, Hervé Hamon, Frédéric Ham, Liza Kerivel, Nono, etc.
3.-Because a part is also dedicated to the youngest
Apart from many publishing houses which will present youth albums, Liza Kerivel will present her album The Barrel (Beluga Editions). This is a funny and ecological fable inspired by the Russian tale The Mitten. Intended for children aged 3 and over, the book received the 2024 Booksellers Prize, youth category, organized by the “Product in Brittany” network.

4.-Because fans of medievalism will be delighted
Tristan Pichard, the honorary president, is the author of numerous books, including half a dozen titles concerning King Arthur. His latest project with Locus Solus Editions is to adapt the entire medieval Arthurian legend into a coherent whole accessible to all. The first two volumes of this titanic work are already available and the author will be happy to sign them during these two days.
5.-Because a Bodad-lenn will be scheduled for Sunday morning
Under this name hides a conference in Breton, simultaneously translated into French, while individual headphones are made available for non-speakers. It will be recorded and broadcast on radio Naoned around a presentation by the author of the book So de’iLoeiza an Duigou.
Saturday November 16 and Sunday November 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Athanor cultural center, in Guérande. Free and free entry. Full program: festivaldulivreguerande.jimdofree.com
