Natacha School, 20 years by Élisabeth Zana

After the death of her daughter Natacha, carried away by the Tsunami which hit the coasts of South-East Asia on December 26, 2004, Élisabeth Zana moved to Thailand where an adventure that she could not have imagined would begin. Adventure made of resilience, cultural adaptation and extraordinary encounters. Twenty years of this particular destiny are recounted here. But you will quickly discover that it is in fact a story of filial love that death has not interrupted.

DECEMBER 26, 2004

The devastating tsunami swept 250,000 people along the coasts of South-East Asia with its wave. Sumatra, Indonesia and Thailand in particular are affected. Among the victims, Natacha Zana, a young woman, a freelance journalist who, at the end of her report, took a few days off on a paradise island, Koh Phi Phi. Daughter of Élisabeth and Jean-Claude Zana, (journalist at -Match), Natacha has been a globe-trotter since her early childhood and very involved in saving the environment, particularly the marine environment.

In April 2005, to try to overcome “the insurmountable”, Jean-Claude and Élisabeth created, with Carole Sédillot, godmother of Natacha and childhood friend of Élisabeth, NAT Association and committed themselves to initially helping the children orphans of the wave then others in great social difficulty. Élisabeth leaves Paris and settles in Thailand where an adventure that she could not have imagined will begin. Adventure made of resilience, cultural adaptation and extraordinary encounters. Twenty years of this particular destiny are recounted here. But you will quickly discover that it is in fact a story of filial love that death has not interrupted. Love which carried over to families in great difficulty, in Bankuankojan, a village in the south of the Land of Smiles, in the province of Krabi.
