“A living book”
Throughout the seasons, the photographer captured the city. “But I didn’t just want to make a pretty book. For me, that meant dehumanized photos of empty monuments and landscapes. I wanted photos with people, a living book,” explains David Le Deodic. He therefore followed his instinct and took photos during major events: carnival, Christmas parties, Pau Grand Prix, races at the racecourse… A work which allows the people of Pale to see themselves in his photos, admiring the race. a swing at the funfair, marveling at a winter night falling on the Pic du Midi d'Ossau or vibrating at the Palais des sports.

With her short texts “stricken with humor and love”, Frédérique Hardy endeavored to offer another point of view on the photos.
“When you are mayor and therefore in love with your city, you seek to transmit this unconditional admiration, to share this love with others and the instruments are lacking. This book responds exactly to this research,” confided François Bayrou, who signed the preface. “I’ll buy some and give it away.” I am committed to being the VRP,” assured the mayor.
Large prints of photos taken from the book will be exhibited in media libraries and during the Les Idées lead le monde exhibition, the last weekend of November.
The five spots to test in photography
1. “The first is the Boulevard des Pyrénées. Everyone has done it but it’s unavoidable, especially if there’s beautiful light, a sunset…”
2. “The halls are a great play area. They are bright and I love their geometric lines. »
3. “The racecourse, the Sers estate, early one morning with the lads training. »
4. “The Beaumont Palace. I like to play with the reflections on the pool. »
5. “Even if you don’t like cars, the Pau Grand Prix is a blast. In the station bend, above from the Boulevard des Pyrénées, the spots are everywhere. »
