A partner of choice
Since 2023, the town hall of Saint-Genis des Fontaines has joined the CAC66 approach as a valuable partner in carrying out its charitable works. This partnership was marked by significant actions, notably the donation of a wheelchair to an association which helps children with disabilities. This strong gesture was the starting point of an enriching collaboration.
A cloister steeped in history
The cloister of Saint-Genis des Fontaines has become an emblem of solidarity. This magnificent place, steeped in history and serenity, offers an ideal setting for promoting literary projects while supporting social causes. Every corner of this cloister tells a story, and the CAC66 is proud to celebrate the richness of Catalan literature while working for a better future.
A morning of literary discoveries
The book fair will bring together around twenty talented authors, members of the CAC66, who will present their works to the general public. It will be a unique opportunity to meet passionate writers and discuss their works, all imbued with Catalan culture. But this fair is not just a simple literary event. At 1 p.m., the CAC66 will have the honor of giving a laptop to the association “Alice and the Little Warriors”which works for the well-being of children with cancer and their families. This computer, intended for a child who must continue his education at home, will significantly improve his learning conditions.
The CAC66 in a few words
The Circle of Catalan Authors is an association of authors from the region, based in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Its mission is to promote Catalan literature and its writers. Each year, it organizes several literary events, including one in honor of a charitable action. In 2023, 13 authors from the association wrote a collective book which promotes the department. All profits are donated to an association. Last year, she gave a wheelchair worth 3,500 euros to a child with a disability. For 2025, it plans to allocate an envelope to an association helping women victims of domestic violence. Supporting it means choosing cultural promotion, particularly literature, as well as the promotion of local structures.
Alice and the Little Warriors
Alice and the Little Warriors is a 1901 law type association domiciled in Argelès-sur-Mer. An eponymous book was written by Olivier Brunel, its president, with the aim of promoting the testimony and the heroic journey of Alice, his seven-year-old daughter, on whom life imposes a terrible fatal battle. This work depicts life in a hospital environment, particularly in the pediatric oncology departments of Montpellier. Its purpose: To improve help and support for children suffering from illnesses requiring hospitalization (cancers, bone marrow suppression, etc.) and families, in and outside hospitals; contribute to the well-being of nursing staff working in hospital pediatric departments.
