The Échappée Livre bookstore will receive the designer Jérôme Sié on Friday, November 8 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as part of a signing session. Press cartoonist for “Siné monthly”, “Médiapart” and “Okapi”, Jérôme lives in Rabastens but worked in the world of fanzines around thirty years ago. At that time, he co-founded the “Six pieds sous terre” editions in Montpellier, before getting involved in a number of local associative projects. He also co-founded the radio station “Octopus”, participated in the international association for the defense of press cartoons “Cartooning for Peace”, and regularly publishes small collections of his drawings, sold at €3.50 or 4 €. We remember “All Surveillance”, published in the middle of the Covid period. Funny, disrespectful, biting as hell. He has also published two Books: “That’s done” in 2023, in which he reacts to the news of the year, and “Tout, tout, tout sur les vins”, a book aimed at young audiences in which he talks about… trees. All with a lot of seriousness and humor at the same time. It will be received at the Échappée Livre bookstore as part of the 2024 “Saint-Sulpice de Rire” Festival, which will be held in St-Sulpice from November 5 to 10. He will present his latest release “Pas very sport”, a beautiful tribute to the Olympics and to those who participated in them… from their sofa! A small collection of autographed drawings… it's already a first Christmas gift. The bookstore will also exhibit his drawings throughout the month of November.
