As we celebrate the hundredth anniversary of surrealism, one of these representatives – and not the least important – is once again being talked about. This is the poet and painter Max Jacob born in Quimper (Finistère) in 1876, died in 1944 during deportation in Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis). With his friend the astrologer Claude Valence (real name Conrad Moricand), they discussed the subject at length.
