This Génelard book fair, entitled “Books in the Countryside” organized by Jean-Michel Chantreault, from Editions de la Bourbince, is a much-awaited return. It will take place on Sunday October 27, at the city’s multipurpose hall, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
As Mr. Chantreault explains, “The Génelard book fair already existed, from 1991 to 2008. A small, unpretentious rural fair, which has always had a certain notoriety in our region.”
Adding: “This revival has several origins: my desire to get back into books and to satisfy the demand of many people.”
A sober edition
This year of recovery will be sober. With the presence of around thirty authors, four publishers, eleven learned societies, a bookseller and a second-hand bookseller. All these little people will be accompanied by painters and craftsmen. (Honey, brewer, binder and fabric creations for books).
During this book fair, a poetry reading will take place at 3 p.m., then that of a story for young people at 4 p.m.
An animation around the comic strip will also be programmed.
