The newspaper Nhan Dan (Peuple) set up a stand presenting a wide range of books during the 19e International Book Fair in St. Petersburg, Russia.

This year’s fair has 250 stands. At the Vietnamese stand are books on President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyên Giap, the Victory of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954), Vietnamese culture and people, as well as works by the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong.

The mayor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, highlighted the role of books, saying that this fair is a meeting place for reading lovers.

Vyacheslav Kalganov, Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Commission for Foreign Relations, expressed satisfaction with Vietnam’s participation and expressed his impression on the country’s socio-economic development.

According to Nguyên Quôc Hung, director of the Russo-Vietnamese Cooperation Development Fund, the translation into Russian of General Secretary Nguyên Phu Trong’s books helps Russians better understand Vietnam’s orientations and policies, while contributing to strengthening the strong friendship between the two countries.

The event will continue until May 19.
