“We are expecting around forty exhibitors for this first edition of our Books for You event. It will mainly concern cultural actors around books in Normandy. Which means that the guests will all be Norman or have ties to Normandy”explains Christophe Lhermitte, the bookseller of the Jardin des muses.

Since his installation in the town and the opening of his bookstore in February 2023, the bookseller has continued to organize various events for all audiences in order to liven up his bookstore but also the village.

With this new event, the Castelblangeois hits even harder since it should attract even more people than during the arrival of Nicole Lambert, author of the books Les Triplés, who will also be present again for this event. “During this book day, there will be more than 30 authors, illustrators and publishers present but also four booksellers, four book artisans, that is to say a binder gilder, a restorer, an illuminator, a calligrapher. We will also have the presence of several artists: storyteller, actor, organist, singer, etc., and the journalist and writer Jérôme Garcin who comes as a neighbor since he lives in Mesnil-sur-Blangy. There will also be the author of the books Max and Lily, Dominique de Saint-Mars, which should please children. »

During this day, the public will be able to interact with professionals who will present their profession and their achievements and they will also be able to have their works signed by the authors. Other activities including surprises are also planned.

In particular, at 11:30 a.m., there will be storytelling in the garden of the old gendarmerie; at 2 p.m., a large dictation at the Théâtre de Verdure (adults and children from 9 years old, registration recommended at 06 61 24 92 97); at 3 p.m., storytelling again in the garden of the old gendarmerie, with a gathering of disguised children before a stroll through the village, at 5:30 p.m., with awarding of dictation prizes and disguises at the green theater and, at 6:30 p.m., to end the day in style, piano/voice recital by Léonor Stirman who will sing Barbara in front of the bookstore.
