France finally has its winner to represent it at the 19th international architecture exhibition which will be held in Venice from May 24 to November 23, 2025. The results of the selection organized by the French Institute were in fact announced on May 3 2024 in a press release by Rachida Dati, Minister of Culture, as well as Stéphane Séjourné, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

So that’s the project.”Living with/living with“, carried by the Jakob+MacFarlane agency in association with Eric Daniel-Lacombe architects and Martin Duplantier architects, who will wear the French colors at the 2025 Venice Biennale, the theme of which is not yet known.

To live with, “an open laboratory” on the world

The project consists of a light structure, made from reused elements, designed as “an open laboratory which becomes a space for exhibition, meetings and discussion“, we learn from the press release. “[Il] questions the capacity of architecture to face a climatic challenge, conflicts and the instability of the world. To do this, the project calls on three intelligences: the intelligence of nature, human intelligence and artificial intelligence.

The French pavilion will be closed for renovation

Visitors to the 2025 edition will not be able to go to the French pavilion, which will be closed for work. Indeed, the French Embassy is launching a vast renovation project to improve the energy performance of the building, which wishes to reduce its emissions by 25% by 2026 and by 40% by 2030. The work will also allow a better reception of the audience.
