The official inauguration of the L’Île aux Livres library took place on Saturday April 27, 2024 in the presence of many elected officials. Nathalie Vigneau, mayor, recalled the history of this library which was under the jurisdiction of the CCTVV (Communauté de communes Touraine Val de Vienne) and returned to the care of the municipality on 1er January 2024 with the financial participation of the Bouchardais municipalities.

An important moment for the chosen one. “The inauguration of a library represents a strong moment because it is synonymous with access to culture and reading for all. It is also a place for meetings and exchanges. To date, we have 350 subscriptions and an average of 950 loans per month, and these numbers are only increasing. We work in conjunction with the departmental library, which allows us to obtain loans of books, DVDs, equipment loans, etc. The Read and Share association intervenes at L’Île aux Livres to help cover books, storage, and organizes various actions such as the clearance sale, and the Île aux histoire – reading of children’s albums – by Stéphane Ouvrard, volunteer from the Association. This event takes place on the last Wednesday of each month. »

It is Steven Panneau, librarian, who welcomes and advises the public.

Since the beginning of the year, the La Tour des jeux association has participated on 3e Saturday of the month during opening hours to introduce new games.

During the year, author meetings will take place thanks to Eric Labayle (May 11, September 14 and November 9).

Everyone can follow the news on the L’Île aux livres Facebook page and on the library website.
