Saturday May 4, members of the Au Cœur des mots association met at Brottes town hall as part of a general assembly.

Meeting at Brottes town hall this Saturday, May 4, the office of the Au coeur des mots association recalled at the start of the general assembly the actions carried out from 2022 to the beginning of 2024, in particular the “Dix mots francophones” competition, their participation at the Bernard Dimey festival or even French-speaking dictation, playful and poetic. Maintaining the amount of “member” (€12 minimum) and “structure” (€22 minimum) contributions was voted unanimously.

Three Au Coeur des mots events in one weekend

Looking to the future, president Anne Duvoy announced the association’s presence at the Chaumont Book Fair. “Sunday May 26, from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., we will be offering a reading bouquet on the Place des Arts. We will read several extracts from works by authors present at the show. » The weekend of May 25 promises to be very busy.

Beyond the Book Fair, the association will be, on Saturday, at the Nordic walking festival at the Montauban estate in Perrancey. It will offer a reading stop on the 8 km route all afternoon. The same day, the association will read Louise Michel during the Bloody Week commemoration ceremony in Vroncourt-la-Côte.

A possible return of the Reading Picnic

The members of Au Coeur des mots raised the possibility of a return of the reading picnic. Originally organized on 1er Sunday in July, some would prefer Saturday or Friday afternoon. No decision has been made. They unanimously chose to join the Au Pays d’Arland association, created to preserve the childhood home of Marcel Arland, academician and Goncourt prize winner in 1929.

Finally, the winners of the 2024 edition of the “52 words” competition have been revealed. Eric Guerre and Patrice Le Dorze come in first and second place respectively. The surprise is Alice Bouet. Aged 11 and a half, she reaches grade 3e place.
