Signings, round tables, meetings… The book fair of Mans (Sarthe) completes the festival “Make it Read!” »Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6, 2024.
Next to 180 auteurs are invited. However, some of these personalities will only be present every other day.
Here is a (non-exhaustive) list of 10 « stars » to see this weekend at the show.
Catel Muller
Guest of honor of this edition, illustrator and author of comics, Catel Mullerspecialized in portraits of women. She comes to present her latest work on Anita Conti, considered the first French woman oceanographer.
Marie Vareille
For more than twenty years, Abigaëlle has lived as a recluse in a convent in Burgundy. His life before? She has largely forgotten it… This is the beginning of the last novel of Marie For crows“Where you go I will go.”
To meet her: Saturday October 7 at 6 p.m., at the Paul-Scarron theater.
Jacques Gamblin
The actor will appear for a third performance, Saturday at 6 p.m., at the Théâtre des Quinconces, of “Cher Cheval”. In this show, Jacques Gamblin shares with the public a letter written to the famous postman Ferdinand, artist and creator of the “Ideal Palace”. In 2021, he came to film scenes for the film “The Tiger and the President” in Sarthe.

Yasmina Khadra
Millions of readers already know the works of Yasmina Khadra. In “Heart of Almond”, he evokes the journey of a son whose mother does not want to recognize, living with his grandmother in the Barbès district of Paris.
Pierre Assouline
Writer and journalist, Pierre Assouline gives his advice in “How to Write”. This member of the Académie Goncourt regularly publishes articles related to literature on his blog.
He will lead a writing workshop, Sunday October 8, at 11:45 a.m., at the literary café (Place des Jacobins).
Ismael Khalifa
This is one of the guides known to viewers of “Échappées belles” on France 5: Ismael Khalifa sign “The most beautiful things in life”.
With Marie Pavlenko and Stéphanie Perez, he will host a round table on “the paths of life”, Saturday October 7 at the literary café (place des Jacobins).
Daniel Pennac
He had set up his theater company in Le Mans. In “My Murderer”, Daniel Pennac paints the portrait of the one the author has been looking for in him since he conceived Pépère, the formidable killer of Terminus Malaussène, at the origin of the saga.
A meeting is organized on Sunday October 8 at 4 p.m. at the Scarron theater.
Jacques Pradel
Man of television and radio, Jacques Pradel notably hosted “Perdu de vue” on TF1 or “L’heure du crime” on RTL.
This Sunday, October 8, at 3 p.m., “At the heart of the police of the future”, he will once again evoke this universe at Carré Plantagenêt.
Yann Queffélec
The writer and sailor Yann Queffélec evokes, in “The Black Medusa”, the shores of the Mediterranean, and the difficult return of Eddie Poujol, after two years of war in Algeria.
A meeting will be held at Carré Plantagenêt, Sunday October 8, at 2 p.m.
Géraldine Maillet
Columnist in the show “Touche pas à mon poste”, presented by Cyril Hanouna, Géraldine Maillet is also a novelist. In “Ma tiny”, an autobiographical story, she recounts a year of adventure after her grandmother’s stroke.
She will share this moment in the meeting space (Place des Jacobins), Saturday October 7 at 6 p.m., around the theme “the trials of life”, alongside Alice Develey.
