Recently created in Lourdes by Marjolaine Fuentes, the Aponi publishing house has just published its very first work, “The incredible destiny of Samuel Adoquei”, which invites everyone to be master of their destiny.

“I hope that the experiences I have shared in this book will help you find your dream that lies within your faculties and the challenges that present themselves to you.” Here is how Samuel Adoquei, a painter of Ghanaian origin living in New York, summarizes in a few lines the work dedicated to his life and published since the end of August by Aponi editions. “The incredible destiny of Samuel Adoquei” is the very first book published by the young publishing house from Lourdes founded by Marjolaine Fuentes, also an author and illustrator under the name Angel Fuentes.

“Starting from nothing, Samuel is an American artist today known and recognized worldwide. He is notably considered the mentor of the rock group The Strokes, led by Julian Casablancas of whom he is the father-in-law, recently presents Marjolaine, Lourdaise I am passionate about his work and I thought it was a shame that his books were not available in French. That’s why I contacted him on his social networks in 2022. We hit it off straight away and, after two years of dating. exchanges on his life and his philosophy, we wrote together this book which has just been published.”

“For everyone who has ever had a dream”

This biographical story, embellished with period photos as well as some of his paintings, is intended to be accessible to as many people as possible, especially children. It is in a way an introduction to the work, life and philosophy of Samuel Adoquei… “It was important for me to talk about him, says the director of Aponi éditions. He is a contemporary painter who pushes and helps everyone to make their dreams come true Both through his life and his work, Samuel proves that each human being is the master of his destiny. This is an important message, especially towards young people. may they be fulfilled in their lives.”

According to Marjolaine, this book deserves to be read by all those who have dreams but who find it difficult to make them come true… She herself, at 32, has just realized hers since this work is the first published by the publishing house she founded last year. A project that she had in mind for ten years…
