Every year, the Fermanlivres library organizes an operation, called weeding of their shelves, which consists of put on saleto very low pricesof the dozens of books.

Et this year 2024 more than ever due to transfer of premiseswhich for several weeks have taken place in the basement of theold town hall from Fermanville (Manche).

« Ce moving gave rise to a lot of classification work on the part of our team of volunteers with the result of shelving a large number of works,” explains Florence Lepraël, president of Fermanlivres.

The fact remains that these books do not go to destruction and that we strive to ensure that they remain in the circuit. This weeding of our shelves will therefore give rise to the meeting this Sunday (October 6, Editor’s note) which will allow reading enthusiasts to acquire books at very attractive prices.

For their part, the members of the Généa50 association, whose premises are located place Marie-Ravenelhave decided to support this great initiative by offering for sale more than 1,500 works from their own funds.

“It is a exceptional stock of books and magazines relating tolocal history or to thearcheology and which concern a little all regions. These are general or very specialized works that we cannot keep, either because they concern regions other than the Channel, or because we already have them,” explains Pascal Levieux, president by Généa50.

And to give even more color to this meeting, the knitters of the Val de Saire workshops offer outdoor knitting workshops from 11 a.m. in a happy and family atmosphere.

These workshops are open to beginners like the confirmed with demonstrations in knitting and crochet. Of the bags and accessories made by members will be put on sale on this occasion.
