The fourth children’s book meetings made people happy this weekend.

It must be said that the Culture Pyrénées association has exposed the different facets of reading.

“Reading is an element of learning but also a social and sensitive link,” explains the president Anne-Marie Bertran. “The children’s book is a vast cultural object and for everyone. You just have to discover the different methods.”

The Valentin Hauy 65 association offered visitors various exercises to discover reading for the blind: exercises to learn Braille, listening work with reading to blindfolded children. The Louis Aragon media library chose to install a reading corner and a games corner. The Pyrénées Manga association offered manga drawing workshops in Indian ink. The Culture Pyrénées association offered a spelling game similar to a dictation with a gift for the strongest spellers. Recup’Livres offers second-hand books to visitors.

This show was also an opportunity to meet for the first time Madame Marmotte, the mascot of the meeting. Born thanks to the complicity of the Melting Potes sewing workshop and the author Xavier Saut, the animal wandered around to meet children at several stands. From that of the independent bookstore of the Tournay abbey to the authors (Daniel Mur, Xavier Saut, Lise Barrow, Daniel Pagès), through publishers such as Per naste and Athizes editions.

Another busy edition this year again.
