“What is the point of being a graduate, driving in cars with smoked windows, drinking and eating appetizing food, while leaving a good majority in town or in the countryside whose only equation that torments the mind is the following question: what will I eat now or tomorrow? “. This sentence is the central idea of the first work of the Nigerian writer Ibrahim Malam Gana Abdoulaye, entitled “The future remains to come”. Known under the nickname BOBO, he holds a higher management certificate, a license in transport and logistics management and was a former leader of several youth school structures in the Zinder region. A writer since secondary school, Mr. Ibrahim Malan Gana Abdoulaye organized the opening of his very first book on June 28, 2022, at the André Salifou University in Zinder. He returns this year with a new work entitled ”Patriotism at the heart of development”.

“Writing is an act of love. If it is not, it is only writing” is one of the famous quotes from Molière to which the Nigerian writer Ibrahim Malam Gana Abdoulaye refers to express his tireless desire to build a future made of news white pages and blue ink, rather than that soaked with the blood of disadvantaged citizens. He affirms that his beginnings were complicated due to the lack of support and invoicing of an enormous sum by certain publishing houses. “What motivated me to write was the fact of taking a position on certain unjust situations in society,” he explained.

His first work addresses the theme of Africa as a whole, with emphasis on Niger. The author mentions, in his work, the lack of transparency in the management of the State, an aspect which contributes to placing the country at the bottom of the world ranking, despite its abundant natural resources which should allow it to reach the status of developed nation.

After having worked ardently to publish his first book “The Future is yet to come”, Mr. Ibrahim Malan Gana Abdoulaye is tackling a second work which he has entitled “Patriotism at the heart of development”. Once again, he aspires to make a significant contribution to the development of the country through his talent as a writer.

“My new work aims to inform everyone about their rights and duties as a citizen, to free themselves from the constraints of life and be able to fully contribute to the development of their country, by encouraging young people to get involved and remain attentive to what is happening in society, because its influence is decisive for the future of generations,” said the writer.

Mr. Ibrahim Malan Gana Abdoulaye wanted to send a message to young Africans, in particular to Nigeriens whom they encourage to defend and remain attached to their country. “Young people should not just blame the government for everything wrong. Many believe that the development of a country is the sole responsibility of the government. For my part, I consider this to be a mistake, because we have a responsibility to contribute, to create jobs, to promote impeccable ethics, and above all to ensure the future of our continent and our respective countries,” he said. The writer encourages the young people of Niger to awaken their minds and to fight in a peaceful and intellectual manner for a more positive vision of the future of the country and the African continent. This requires an increased practice of citizenship, a patriotic feeling and a belief in change, as his first book emphasizes, “the future is yet to come”. He took this opportunity to appeal to the authorities, encouraging them to further involve youth in making crucial decisions for the development of the country.
