Already editor of the excellent Burning Heads book, Metro Beach continues to dust off the greatest moments of the French punk scene by publishing Black & Black, Get Enraged! which, as its title indicates, traces the history of the famous Angevin structure. Available on October 11 in the best bookstores, the book written by the music journalist Patrick Foulhoux (already author of Les Thugs Radical History in particular) and laid out by Frank Frejnik, returns in 200 pages – rich in testimonies, photos, posters, press cuttings… – to what was this radio show, this organization of concerts, this label and these record stores with storefronts in Angers, Bordeaux and Nantes. With in its catalog groups as emblematic as Burning Heads, HintDeity Guns et Drive BlindBlack & Noir – created in particular by Eric Sourice, singer of Thugs – has, throughout its existence, stood out thanks to its relevance, its demands, its integrity and its ethics.
Please note that the release of the book – simultaneous with that of the compilation Black & Noir Single Club 1990-1992 chez Nineteen Something will be the pretext for a few meetings across France in the coming weeks. Details of the dates below.
