After defeating Diana Shnaider yesterday, Pegula entered the Slam’s quarterfinals against Iga Swiatek. Ahead of this important match tomorrow, Pegula had an interesting revelation about her friend and fellow WTA star Emma Navarro.

Pegula was asked to comment on Navarro’s performance and rise in professional career and the WTA no 6 said, “I love Emma so much she’s hilarious, I just saw her in the gym. Yeah I mean obviously her and Coco had a tough match yesterday. Either way I think Emma’s been playing some really good tennis and I think she’s really really good like she’s great athlete she’s mentally stable and she’s only going to get better so I feel like she’s going to be a threat for the next ten years or however long she plays to definitely be a slam contender.

Navarro has also excelled by entering the ongoing US Open’s quarterfinals. She defeated the defending champion Coco Gauff at the Round of 16 yesterday by 6-3, 4-6,  6-3. Her victory against a strong competitor like Gauff has shown her potential to win a slam. Pegula also believes that Navarro is in great form, which might result in a Grand Slam victory for the player soon.
