Some 4,400 para-athletes will take part in this paradewhich will descend from the bottom of the Avenue des Champs-Elysées towards the Place de la Concorde.

Among them, there will be 29 Belgian athletes, includingto the rider Manon Claeys and the player Joachim Gérard, who will be our two flag bearers.

No big name guest artist has been revealed at this stage but the team has announced that it will be a “crossing of our musical repertoire”.

The music is once again by Victor Le Masne, composer of the anthem for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He composed a score that is “a little more minimal, a little more bare” than for the Olympic Games, but with “lots of drums, lots of keyboards, lots of diversity”.

For the costumes, Daphné Bürki recruited French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, the of inclusive and sensual fashion, to create some 700 outfits. He promises feathers, gold, embroidery and a revisited blue-white-red in a nod to the French flag.

The Olympic cauldron will once again be illuminated and will take off into the Parisian sky as it did during the two weeks of Olympic competitions.

The closing ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 8 at the Stade de France, like that of the Olympic Games, and will take the form of a large electro concert, with 24 artists and DJs including Jean-Michel Jarre, Cassius and Kavinsky.
