Sunday 8 September is the day again: Bloemencorso Loenhout will be held for the 72nd time. To ensure that this wonderful event runs smoothly and safely, the Loenhout village centre will be made traffic-calmed on Sunday morning and will be completely closed to traffic at 10:00. Local diversions will be provided.

Naturally, there will be a complete parking ban along all streets of the circuit on Sunday 8 September. From 08:00, traffic wardens will be present along the main access roads (Wuustwezelseweg, Brechtseweg, Sint-Lenaartseweg and Hoogstraatseweg) to divert through traffic. Furthermore, there will be a temporary parking ban along the diversions and in certain streets of the inner and outer area of ​​the circuit. Tienpondstraat will be closed to traffic for the flea market between 07:00 and 18:00 on Sunday.

The restructuring

Traffic on the Bredabaan from the Netherlands to Hoogstraten and Brecht will be diverted via Wuustwezel-centrum, Bredabaan (N1) and Kampweg/Wuustwezelsteenweg (N133) towards Brecht (until 7 p.m.). Traffic on the Hoogstraatseweg (N144) from Hoogstraten to Wuustwezel and Brecht will be diverted via E19 and exit 3 Brecht (until 7 p.m.).

-Traffic on the Wuustwezelseweg (N144) to Brecht: diversion via Neervenweg – Brechtseweg (until 22:00
-Traffic on the Wuustwezelseweg (N144) to Hoogstraten: diversion via Neervenweg – Brechtseweg – Veldstraat – E19 (until 7:00 PM)
-Traffic on the Brechtseweg to Wuustwezel: diversion via Neervenweg and Wuustwezelseweg (N144) (until 22:00)
-Traffic on the Brechtseweg to Hoogstraten: diversion via Veldstraat – E19 (until 22:00)
-Traffic on the Hoogstraatseweg (N144) to Wuustwezel: diversion via Vloeiweg, Tereik, and Loenhoutsesteenweg (N144) (until 19:)

Please note: In some locations the maximum permitted speed is limited to 30 km/h.

If you are travelling to Loenhout on Sunday by public transport, bicycle or car, you will find some information below.

Public transport

Are you coming by train? Get off at Noorderkempen station in Brecht. Bus 436 will take you to the festivities in Loenhout.
By bus? The buses of De Lijn that drive through Loenhout follow an adjusted timetable on Sunday 8 September. View the plans in the pdf files (see bottom of this page) for more details about unserved and replacement stops.
During the parade, bus line 640 will run to Wuustwezel Stelplaats. There, passengers can transfer to bus 436 towards the temporary terminus Henningenlaan. Before you leave, it is best to check the De Lijn route planner via delijn.be/nl/routeplanner.

Come by bike

To Loenhout without traffic jams? Then the bike is the best choice! You can also park for free near the course in the four bicycle parking facilities provided. Please note: no bicycles are allowed in the centre and along the course. These are the locations of the bicycle parking facilities:
-Wuustwezelseweg: corner of Wuustwezelseweg-Hofdreef
-Hoogstraatseweg: At the front of the car park (parking 3)
-Sint-Lenaartseweg: land along Sint-Annastraat
-Brechtseweg: field along Molenakkerstraat

By car

Are you coming by car via the E19? Then take exit 2 Loenhout or exit 3 Brecht. If you come via exit Brecht, then take the third exit at the roundabout at the end of the exit towards Loenhout (N144) and follow the Brechtseweg towards Loenhout. If you come via exit 2, then follow the Hoogstraatseweg to Loenhout. There are various car parks on the edge of Loenhout for our visitors. They are easily accessible. If a car park is full, you will be referred to a nearby car park. Parking costs 3 euros per car per day. An overview of the car parks can be found on the website of Bloemencorso Loenhout. There is a special car park near the entrance and a designated area for people with disabilities. There is a kiss-and-ride zone, so that you can be dropped off as close to the route as possible to limit the walking distance.
