This event brings together black & white works signed by the greatest artists of this current of contemporary photography. There street photography or street photographs will be exhibited through the very distinct views of six American artists.
From the 50s to the 70s, Danny Lyon, Joseph Sterling, Louis Faurer, Dave Heath, Jill Freedman or Garry Winogrand have surveyed America, its cities and public places, offering their visions of a country and its society in full change!

Through the series of photos presented until mid-March, American Street Photography offers so much exploration in the heart of the streets of the United States that one testimony about daily life Americans and their society. Behind these anonymous photos, taken on the spot without staging, behind each banal scene hides a piece of American history.
These are the post-World War II United States, crossed by the conflict in Vietnamthe death of Kennedy or the fight for civil rights what these photographers captured and each with their approach. They sometimes pose as neutral witnesses of street scenes which are played out before their eyes, sometimes in more sensitive developers successes and dysfunctions of a nation in upheaval from 1950 to 1970 !
