TGB: heavy fine for the Tarbes club once again pinned down by the FFBB management commission

Gespe Bigorre has, for exceeding the personnel costs framework for the 2023/24 season; non-compliance with the validated budget for the 2023/24 season and non-compliance with the obligation to constitute the reserve fund for the 2023/24 season, was penalized with a fine of 10,600 euros.

Like last season at the same time, Tarbes Gespe Bigorre is overtaken by the extra-sporting since it has just been pinned down by the management control commission (CCG) of the French Federation (FFBB) in plenary meeting on December 11, 12 and 13, 2024 in order to rule on 16 procedures opened against clubs participating in the FFBB championships.

Concerning the TGB, several reasons were noted: exceeding the personnel cost framework for the 2023/24 season; non-compliance with the validated budget for the 2023/24 season; non-compliance with the obligation to constitute the reserve fund for the 2023/24 season.

10,600 euros in fines

As a result, the Tarbes club was sanctioned with several financial penalties: €6,700 for exceeding the framework for 2023/24 personnel costs; €3,900 for non-compliance with the validated 2023/24 budget and non-compliance with the reserve fund obligation for the 2023/24 season.

If these sanctions relate to the previous season, it should be noted that several positive signs were issued during the club’s general assembly, by president Jeannie Cointre for the 2024/2025 season. Everything therefore suggests that this sanction should be the last against the Bigourdan club.

Remember that the TGB was subject to demotion to the Regional League at the end of last season for not having met the requirements of the FFBB management control commission and this was only after being heard by the FFBB Appeals Chamber, at the end of June, that the Tarbes club had validated its retention in the elite.

Several other Women’s League clubs were also sanctioned.

Points less for Roche Vendée

This is the case of Charnay for exceeding the personnel cost framework for the 2023/24 season; non-compliance with the validated budget for the 2023/24 season and non-compliance with the obligation to constitute the reserve fund for the 2023/24 season. Unanswered grievances.

Roche Vendée was also singled out for exceeding the personnel cost framework for the 2023/24 season; Non-compliance with the validated budget for the 2023/24 season and Non-compliance with the obligation to constitute the reserve fund for the 2023/24 season.

The Vendée club was sanctioned with a financial penalty of €8,000 for exceeding the personnel costs framework but also with a withdrawal of 2 points in the LFB phase 1 ranking and 1 point in the ranking. LFB play-downs (if the club participates) for the 2024/25 season for non-compliance with the validated 2023/24 budget, non-compliance with the reserve fund obligation of the 2023/24 season.

Clubs may appeal to the Appeals Chamber against the decisions of the management control commission, within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the decision.
