Manuel B., a former French soldier, was arrested on April 29 when he was going to leave with his wife to join a Syrian jihadist group, reports Le Figaro. After his arrest, he was placed in pre -trial detention, and indicted for association of criminal terrorist criminals. His wish was to join the group called the Firqatul Ghuraba (the foreigners brigade) of the French jihadist Omar Diaby, alias Omar Omse, Nice for Syria in 2013.
Manuel and his partner leave France for Italy in mid-April. They then go to Saudi Arabia. They thus fly away for Jordan. But his trip stops net. He will be arrested on April 21, before being transferred to France.

-Manuel was not a radical Islamist. His military mission in Djibouti in 2008 was at the origin of his radicalization. Back in France, the man has radically changed. This change will also be behind his exclusion from the army in 2014. He had just completed nine years of service. After this episode, the former French-French return returns to live in Angers. He directs a small group of local Islamists to whom he learns to fight. It also leads paramilitary training. After a search at his home a few days after the 2015 attacks, he was under house arrest until 2016.

After his release, he made a radical decision: to make his hijra. He takes his wife and daughter to Morocco. But the journey runs short due to the presence of knives, a machete, a baton and a hood … in its suitcases. During a search at his home in Fez, the Moroccan authorities seize a ball pistol, as well as training manuals with explosives. Judged in Morocco, the Islamist sentenced to a four -year prison sentence in 2016, before being expelled to France. His partner is in Syria.
