On Saturday, the COSEC de Figeac gymnasium lived an unforgettable evening on the occasion of the Night of the Volley, a festive and sporting event organized brilliantly by Léo, Andréa and Juliet, three students of the IUT de Figeac, as part of their tutored project. A great success for this 2025 edition, which was able to federate passionate about volleyball and lovers of good humor. In the afternoon, the young volleyball players opened the ball with a tournament bringing together seven teams from Figeac, Gourdon, Saint-Christophe-Vallon and Villefranche-de-Rouergue. It is also the Aveyron team of Villefranche who brilliantly won the final against Figeac 1. In the evening, the atmosphere took an even more festive turn with the arrival of 25 teams, all ready to do battle … in costume! Because this night of the volleyball took place on the original and colorful theme of video games. Wacky costumes, geek references, living mascots: imagination was there.
Under the leadership of the club president, Joris Chauvet, and the whole team of the Volley Club Figeac, the entertainment punctuated the evening: raffle, competition from the biggest smash, music, refreshment bar and good humor. Enough to make this night a moment as friendly as sporting. The grand finale, played at an hour well advanced by the night, opposed Olympique de Marcel (Cahors) to the local Bitchers team. In a tense and spectacular meeting, it is the Figeacois who won 2 sets at 1, under the ovations of an audience still awake.
The club warmly thanks all the participants, the volunteers, as well as the partners who contributed to the success of this unifying event. An edition that is both sporty and festive, which confirms the beautiful dynamic of volleyball in Figeac.
