The SAVE management union deploys its GEMAPI 2025 plan: alert, renaturation and protection of endangered species.
The SAVE management union voted for its budget and presented its 2025 projects. The action plan is based on the GEMAPI, integrating the management of aquatic environments (GEMA) and the prevention of floods (PI).
In terms of flood prevention, the implementation of flood anticipation systems on the upstream of the basin will be completed before summer. The elected officials of the municipalities exposed to the risk of flooding will follow in real time the water heights in the upstream sector of Isle-en-Dodon, without “Vigicrue” station.
Endangered species
Regarding the management of aquatic environments, in addition to recurring operations such as the maintenance of sensitive zones, the management of hugs, the treatment of invasive, it is notably provided for the development of two renaturation sites, the treatment of two landings and the erasure of the monferran-savès water body.
-It has been specified that the arrangements initially scheduled for the downstream sector will have to be revised due to the potential presence of the large mule. The large mule is a kind of freshwater mold in critical danger of extinction worldwide.
It remains in France only on a few very localized sites, including the Save between Montaigut-sur-Save and Granada. Several individuals have been spotted in the river in this sector. It is the subject of a national action plan (PNA). A prospecting will be carried out in the fall on the Save.
President Jean-Luc Dupoux wanted to alert on excessive sections of vegetation on the edge of rivers (Ripisylve). The development of the “wood energy” sector strongly accentuates this phenomenon. Thus, whole watersheds of the bank find themselves without Ripisylve.
The management body sensitizes owners from the importance of vegetation at the edge of watercourses (maintenance of banks, decrease in water temperature, shelter for wildlife, etc.).
He invites them to contact the union in order to benefit from technical advice before initiating work of this type.
