With an educational model running solar energy of the Marsannay-le-Bois methanisation unit, CM1-CM2 students from the Levant primary school won their ticket for the national competition.Sicco press release from May 7, 2025:
In the 2024-2025 school year, SICECO, Côte-d’Or energy territory, organized the departmental competition “Les Écoloustiques” for Cycle 3 classes (CM1 / CM2 / 6th) of the municipalities of its territory (all the municipalities of Côte-d’Or except those of Dijon Métropole). Tuesday, May 6, Jacques Jacquenet, president of SICECO, brought together the winning class in Marsannay-le-Bois in order to organize the award ceremony.
What if the students imagined the energies of tomorrow?
The “Les Écoloustiques” competition offers students to discover the “energy transition” and to illustrate it, from the transversal theme: “Energies in my commune, yesterday, today and tomorrow”. By relying on their knowledge of the different types of production and consumption, but also on historical and geographic research, the students had to carry out a file presenting their vision of energies in their commune “yesterday, today and tomorrow”.
This competition is fully part of the educational program of these classes because it allows us to approach several subjects including sciences, history or geography. The organization of this competition aims to raise awareness among students, their teachers and, more broadly, their parents on the challenges of the energy transition. It is fully part of the mission of general interest in the energies that is the responsibility of a community such as SICECO.
A winner in Côte-d’Or
The departmental jury has set out to reward the approach of the class, the content of the file as well as the artistic quality. He appointed winner of the CM1/CM2 class competition from the Levant primary school in Marsannay-le-Bois. The students supervised by their teacher Madame Stéphanie Buisson produced an educational model operating to the solar energy of the methanisation unit of their municipality.
It is accompanied by audio explanations which can be read thanks to QR codes present on the latter. The students attended several educational events in order to best understand the theme of the competition: guided tour of the Marsannay-le-Bois methanisation unit, meeting with François Gaillard, GRDF local authorities advisor and presentation of wind and solar energies by the Bourgogne Energies renewable association.
A ticket for the national competition
The class file was presented to the National Jury, organized by the FNCCR (National Federation of Concreed and Régies communities to which SICECO adheres). He received a prize and a prize ceremony will be organized in Paris on June 10.
