The American president, who has placed himself at the head of the working group dedicated to the organization of the event, assured that visitors would live during the tournament an experience “without hitching”.
“We are looking forward to welcoming soccer lovers from around the world,” he said on Tuesday during a teaching house alongside the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino.
“Each government member will work that these events are successful, safely, and that people traveling to the United States for the competition have an experience without hooking at each stage of their visit,” he added.
The entrances to foreign travelers on American soil are expected to retreat in 2025 5.1 % compared to the previous year, against an anticipated increase previously 8.8 %, according to a report published at the end of February by Tourism Economics.
-“The polarization engendered by the politics and rhetoric of the Trump government […] will discourage trips to the United States, ”said Tourism Economics.
Vice-president JD Vance said Tuesday that visitors would be welcome, they should leave the country at the end of the competition.
“I know we will have visitors, nearly 100 countries. We want them to come, that they take advantage, to attend the matches. But when it is over, they will have to leave, “he warned.
Infantino assured him that FIFA had a “whole confidence” in the Trump administration for the organization of a successful tournament.
The Minister of Internal Security, Kristi Noem, added that the United States would use the FIFA club World Cup, organized next month exclusively on their territory, as a test.
“We are already working on travel documents, visa requests … It will obviously be a taste of what we can do next year for the World Cup,” she said.
Trump also assured that he felt “no tension” with Mexico and Canada, the co-organizers of the next World Cup, the first at 48 teams, despite recent diplomatic tensions.
