He plans to cover their transport costs and allocate a sum of $ 1,000, paid after their return to their country, according to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS).
“When you are (in the United States) illegally, self-expulsion is the best way-the safer and the most economical-to leave the United States to avoid being arrested,” said the owner of the DHS, Kristi Noem in this press release.
The starting process must be done via the CBP Home mobile phone application, said the DHS, which also ensures that “self-expulsion is a worthy way to leave the United States”.
In its press release, the ministry considers that this procedure “will allow the costs of an expulsion of about 70%”. According to him, the average cost of arrest, the detention and expulsion of an immigrant in an irregular situation in the United States is currently $ 17,121.
