From the start of the match, the Moroccans displayed their intentions. Putting the entry pressure, however, they have stood up on an Angolan goalkeeper in place for a long time, while Angola was trying to replicate with rapid counterattacks. It was not until the 13ᵉ minute that Doha El Madani finally found the opening and gave the advantage to his team. But the joy was short -lived: five minutes later, Djamila Katombela reset the counters to zero for Angola (18ᵉ). Despite the efforts made on both sides, the parity score (1-1) was holding up to the break, leaving the entire suspense.
Upon returning from the locker room, the tension remained palpable. The lionesses continued to push to resume the lead, but still lacked narrowly in the last gesture in front of a well -gathered Angolan team and ready to exploit the slightest opportunity. It was finally Zineb Roudani who managed to blow up the lock in the 30ᵉ minute, restoring the advantage in Morocco. A goal that was going to prove to be the real turning point in this semi-final.
