This Wednesday morning, the firefighters from Vendée announced that the fire was now turned off at the Piveteau sawmill. It took a hundred of them and three days to overcome the claim.
Tuesday, the company announced that “Among the twelve employees present, three were taken as a precaution at the hospital in observation. All have now been released.”
-She also announced that “No partial unemployment measure is envisaged at this stage for the teams concerned. The wood activity, on the other hand, has not been impacted and continues normally. Wooden expeditions and pellet bags also take place without disruption “.
The alert was given at 4:22 p.m. on Sunday April 13 for a fire in Sainte-Florence, located in Vendée between the Essarts-en-Bocage and the Herbiers.
The fire had declared itself in a building of 1,000 m² of the Piveteau sawmill, following explosions in two silos of the industrial site.
About sixty firefighters were then mobilized, eight employees put in safety. A security perimeter had to be set up.
