In an intervention in the National Assembly this Wednesday, Julien Odoul, deputy for the national rally, launched a frontal charge against rebellious France (LFI) and against the “central block” which he accuses of complacency in the face of anti -Semitism.
The parliamentarian began his speech with a direct accusation towards his colleagues: “You let the filthy beast come in, you have nourished it with grants, you fed it by clientelism, you flattered it at the time of the elections.”
In his speech, Julien Odoul designated LFI as “the worst political threat to our compatriots of Jewish confession”, citing in particular Rima Hassan and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, whom he describes as anti-Semites. He also accused the movement of encouraging “blockages”, “the exhibition of Palestinian flags” and “insults” in French universities. But the deputy did not stop there. He also pointed out the responsibility of the presidential majority and the government, accusing them of having made “the short scale” on the far left during the legislative elections. He directly implicated the President of the Republic, accusing him of having “spoke of the barbarism of the State of Israel” and “refused to walk against anti -Semitism”.
This intervention is part of a context of increasing tensions around pro-Palestinian demonstrations in French universities, which Julien Odoul presents as households of anti-Semitism, claiming that “91% of Jewish students feel attacked in French universities”.
