Kendall Jenner is suited up for the 2025 Met Gala!

The model and reality , 29, who has rocked several iconic Met Gala looks over the years — including an archival Alexander McQueen for Givenchy and her nearly naked homage to Audrey Hepburn — stunned in yet another classic look on May 5 as she walked the carpet beside her bestie Hailey Bieber.

For her interpretation of this year’s theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Jenner wore a feminine take on the classic suit jacket in a custom Torishéju look featuring a plunging neckline and swapped out trousers for a floor-length skirt. As far as accessories, Jenner went all out with a multi-strand diamond necklace and matching drop earrings.

Per a release, the design was inspired by Gladys Bentley and other 1920s Harlem Renaissance , with designer Torishéju Dumi sharing, “This look is deeply personal to me, as it expresses the versatility of Black Dandyism and tailoring and what it means to a black British woman. It challenges preconceived notions of how one should dress or design based on their gender, race or background.”

October, Vogue revealed the details of the 2025 Met Gala on the Monday in May with Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour as co-chairs, as well as LeBron James as honorary chair.

The star-studded event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, is fundraising for The Costume Institute — and putting the spotlight on its 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which is also this year’s Met Gala theme.

According to Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton, the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identityexplores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”

Through a curation of garments, paintings and photographs, the exhibit “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism,” according to a post on the museum’s Instagram.

In February, the dress code was revealed to be “Tailored for You.” Fittingly, it is a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting. The gala will also have a star-studded host committee: Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, as well as Doechii, Regina King, Spike Lee, Angel Reese and Usher.

Last year, Jenner made fashion history as the first “human” to ever wear a vintage Alexander McQueen for Givenchy gown from 1999, which featured a sculptural neckline and shoulders, a cutout waist, stunning beaded elements and a scalloped butt detail that fit the model “like a glove.”

“I made a dream list of who I would ideally want to go with, and I would have to wear something by Alexander McQueen,” Jenner told Vogue on the carpet at the event. “It’s been sleeping for the last 25 years. It’s literally a ‘sleeping beauty.’ It’s such a moment. I feel extremely honored that they’re allowing me to wear it.”

However, the Kardashian star’s revelation that the dress came straight from the archives and she was the first person to wear the gown — after a mannequin — drew scrutiny online from people who noted that Winona Ryder wore what appeared to be the same dress in 1999 for a magazine photo shoot.

An industry source confirmed to PEOPLE that Ryder was, in fact, wearing a different dress. The actress was wearing a replica of the original McQueen for Givenchy gown (with Jenner’s being the original).

The look marked a decade of memorable looks from Jenner, who made her “fashion prom” debut in 2014 wearing a custom blush mermaid-style Topshop gown and 82 carats of Chopard diamonds. The following year, she attended in a custom design by then-Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa. “We only showed Kendall one option — the perfect one,” he told PEOPLE at the time.

The model, who has walked the red carpet solo, went on to wear a sheer, cutout Atelier Versace gown in 2016, a barely there see-through La Perla Haute Couture gown in 2017, an angelic Off-White look in 2018, the aforementioned Atelier Versace in 2019 and a sheer crystal-embellished Givenchy Haute Couture in 2021.

In 2022, she even bleached her eyebrows for a no-eyebrow look to highlight her two-piece ensemble featuring a jaw-dropping, full-bodied skirt with a long train and a sheer, nipple-baring tank top under a fishnet crop top. The following year, she opted to follow another trend — “no-pants” — as she opted for a sequined black bodysuit with exaggerated, floor-skimming sleeves and shimmering, sky-high platinum boots.
