Annual report 2024 of the fire and Civil Security Department

The Directorate of Fire Safety and Civil Security is proud to unveil its 2024 annual report.
Management highlights its efforts to improve public security, in particular by strengthening its strike force in response to the new requirements of the risk coverage scheme. In July 2024, 3 firefighters per quarter -work were added in 3 barracks, which led to the creation of 12 permanent positions in January 2025. This made it possible to reach a response rate of 98 % within the time for urban fires, against 94 % in 2023.
The year was particularly active in all divisions, with a notable increase in interventions:
- 10,904 Smoke warning checks;
- 1,461 inspections of risk buildings;
- 2,968 various interventions;
- 1,095 fire alarms;
- 10,819 hours of training.
The division Risk management and civil security Was mobilized in front of extreme weather episodes, including the Debby storm and a major fire on Notre-Dame Est Street.
