Randy Orton launched an open challenge for Wrestlemania 41 following the injury of Kevin Owens. There was a lot of speculation about the possible person who could challenge him.
On this list was the name of Nick Alids, the General Manager of Smackdown. Many members of the WWE universe imagined seeing Aldis accepted the challenge because of Randy Orton’s RKO and its past as a full -time wrestler for TNA and elsewhere. As you know, it was finally Joe Hendry who accepted the Open Challenge of Orton.
Today, Wrestlevotes took stock of the subject and we learn that WWE had no intention of raising Nick Aldis in the Wrestlemania 41 ring despite the RKO. It was simply a gesture to fill a week in Smackdown for Randy Orton and thus lead him to his decision of the Open Challenge.
The choice of Joe Hendry was already taken from the start, and it was a choice since Kevin Owens’ injury and a choice made by Randy Orton as mentioned on Catch-Newz. A return from Nick Aldis to the WWE ring is not in the plans.
