Félix and Alexis Lebrun will play their first Doha world Championship match on May 17, but in two different rooms. They will also go into double competition the next day.
Appointment is made on May 17 for the Lebrun brothers. Félix, the youngest, will be the first to enter the world championships, played in Doha. He will compete in his first meeting against Slovak Lubomir Tracej, 138th in the world, at 1 p.m. (French time). Alexis, back from an injury in the right hand, will follow at 4:10 pm, opposite Togolese Kokou Fanny, 190th.
Small feature, however: the two brothers will not play in the same place. Félix will play his first round at La Lusail Arena, the main room, which will welcome the finals. But Alexis will have to go to the sports complex of the University of Qatar, a secondary room used for the first four days of the competition only.
In search of a first world medal in simple
The day after their entry into single, the Lebrun will compete for their first double round, at 11:40 am. Faced with team silver medalists at the 2024 Worlds, Félix and Alexis Lebrun will try this time to win their first single or double medal, while Félix has already obtained Olympic bronze in the summer last summer in Paris.
In the rest of the program, Simon Gauzy will start in simple on May 18 at 10:20 am, against Mahmoud Helmy, 110th in the world. He went on a mixed double with Prithika Pavade, at 3.30 p.m. Among women, Audrey Zarif will open the ball facing the Romanian Ioana Singeorzan at 12:20 pm, before Léana Hochard at 7:30 p.m.
