The 32nd finals of the Masters 1000 in Rome continue in the Italian city! This Saturday, the Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo faces Chilean Nicolas Jarry in front of the Italian public to join the 16th finals.
Francisco Cerundolo, seeded number 17, enters this tournament with this duel. Author of a very beautiful campaign at the Masters 1000 in Madrid last month, the 26-year-old Argentinian won 4 consecutive victories with a notable victory against the world number 2 Alexander Zverev in just 2 sets then against the 21st world Jakub Mensik to join Casper Ruud in the semi-finals. Also semi-finalist at the Munich tournament a few days earlier, the Argentinian no longer really has to demonstrate that he is a solid competitor in these clay tournaments.
Nicolas Jarry, for his part, is back in this tournament which succeeded very well last year since he was a finalist against the German Alexander Zverev. This season, he won his first round against French Hugo Gaston (78th in the world) in a match where he was well hung on the first set to conclude on the score of 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. A victory that had to do good to the Chilean since he has experienced very complicated weeks precedently by chaining many defeats.
