These are 4 boys who have played tennis together from an early age: Theo was losing regularly and imputed the fault of the tennis bullets that bounced badly. He won an idea: the idea thanks to which these 4 will set up a society for ecology, the preservation of the planet and the economies for associations, federation and tennis clubs.
Indeed, the tennis and padel balls last only a few hours of play. They quickly lose their pressure, thus becoming single -use products. An expensive product that lasts only a few hours: an aberration that these 4 friends want to stop as quickly as possible. By giving sports clubs the possibility of multiplying by 2 to 5 times the lifespan of the balls, while considerably reducing their carbon footprint and the pollution linked to the materials used (rubber, felt, glues). They therefore decrease the mass of their waste and make substantial savings: between 50% and 80% on their annual budget (!). Which is not nothing. “” You should know that tennis is the 4th most polluting sport on the planet. Our innovation is therefore likely to become the norm in the coming years ” Specifies Théo who has been maintained for 18 months with clubs and federations – all enthusiasts at this revolutionary idea.
History to their rescue
The story of René Lacoste and his “pressure cooker” had returned to the lead: in the years 1925-1930, this world famous champion transported a pressure cooker for all his international games which allowed him, thanks to his air entrance valve and a pump to go up in pressure, to play with hard balls throughout the duration of his games. The consumer society has not lent to this ingenious economical and ecological process. She forgot it. Our four athletes no. Theo explains: “After 15 months of research and development, we brought it up to date by modernizing and updating it.”.
They believe it hard as iron
It is with this achievement that Théo Bourdarel, president of their brand new PUB company (Ball Under Pressure), the 2 budding engineers that are Pierre -Axel and Etienne Cappe (son of Pascal Cappe, president of the Ventbren tennis club), and Barnabé Philipon, who takes care of management and sales – average age 25 years – are embarking on the adventure of the marketing of their invention. Allied with their ecological consciousness while solving an economic problem.
