ASCL (Lamarque sports and cultural association), tennis section led by Christophe Combes and Peggy Lamazou-Betbeder, organized the 5th edition of the Jean-Luc Canavate tennis tournament. The meetings argued from April 18 to May 4 on the courts of Pontacq and Lamarque-Pontacq.
The confrontations, open to young people, adults and seniors, were arbitrated by Christophe Combes, Olivier Girardot and two finals by Baltazar. The meetings were scheduled in the evening after 6 p.m. and on weekends. 80 players, mainly from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées, played 110 matches; The level this year was noted and the fierce meetings.
The finals took place in the Pontacq sports hall due to the uncertain time, in the presence of the municipal assistants of Pontacq, Henri Sousbielle and Christine Mousseigne. They gave the following results:
Console gentlemen: Mateo Besse beats Nicolas Barbot 6-7, 6-4, 6-2
C dames : In the Clerkq Bat Bay Betbeder Peggy 3-6, 6-4, 6-4
-Simple gentlemen + 35 years old: Eddy Rambaud beats Jean-Charles Sanmartin 6-1, 6-2
S gentlemen: Romain Séguret beats Thierry Lévêque 7-5, 6-3
S Dames: Doria Dacuna Bat Camille Cazalé-Debat 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
After the awards ceremony, Christophe Combes thanked the club’s volunteers for their investment, the town halls of Lamarque and Pontacq, the associations and traders of Pontacq and the surrounding area.
