THE SCAN SPORT – Braun Levi, a promise of US tennis, was overthrown by a drunk driver in Manhattan Beach, California, and succumbed to her injuries.
It was at 12:46 am on Sunday that Manhattan Beach police received an accident in the 100th block on Boulevard Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach. Braun Levi who was walking with a friend was found lying in the street next to the vehicle of Jenia Belt, 33.
The accident vehicle driver was arrested and indicted for driving under the influence of alcohol. “Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries”said Manhattan Beach police.
Promised a big future on the national circuit, Levi, 18, was captain of the Loyola tennis team and has been playing there for four years. Brian Held, coach of the Loyola tennis team, said about Levi, that he was “Probably the most decorated player in the history of the school (…) We are all stunned, devastated and the heart broken by this tragedy.”
