Finally winner of a Masters 1,000 on Sunday in Madrid, Casper Ruud returns to the top 10 this Monday in the new ranking, still dominated by Jannik Sinner. Jack Draper, beaten in the final by the Norwegian, integrates the top 5 (5th). The French number 1 Arthur Son retains 14th place.
The two men of the week are called Casper Ruud and Jack Draper. The first won the Masters 1000 in Madrid on Sunday when he was running after a first title in a big meeting since the start of his career and had to wait for his seventh final to erase what had a huge anomaly for a player of this level. The second still achieved a magnificent week and confirmed not only his great shape but also he was now part, at only 23 years old, of the best players in the world. The new ranking attests to this. The Norwegian and the Briton indeed offer a double reward at the end of their superb weekend (certainly for one even more than for the other).
Musetti in the top 10
Ruud, who occupied 15th place before the tournament, thus leaps in eight rows and found the top 10, in 7th place. As for Draper, not spent far Sunday to win a new Masters 1,000 after having already triumphed over Indian Wells, he joined the top 5 for the first time in his life, hoisting himself in 5th position instead of a certain Novak Djokovic, excuse the little. Lorenzo Musetti, again beaten in the semi-finals (this had already been the case in Vienna this season) by this left-hander who is very reminiscent of Rafael Nadal in his game, made his first appearance (9th) in this top 10 which Daniil Medvedev (11th) disappears again. On the French side, no change with regard to our two best representatives: Arthur Son remains 14th, Ugo Humbert, 22nd.
