The idea seems to be making its way. The Pully municipal council is due to rule on on a petition requesting the reallocation of the upper floor of the Fau-Blanc car park, known as the Arnold-Reymond car park, in a public space.

“This place is a magnificent esplanade, with a beautiful view of Léman, launches Marina Rougemont, petitioner and resident of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, this surface is used only as a parking lot. ”

As part of the renovation of the Arnold-Reymond college, the 220 petitioners the Pouliérane authorities to examine other uses for this car park, which would benefit a larger part of the population, and in particular college students: panoramic terrace, public park, place, refreshment bar or installation of solar panels.

Sub-occupied parking

The upper floor, the object of the petition, is a parking public 32 places out of a total of 106, accessible with a (limited to six ) or with a residential macaroon. The two lower floors are places (yellow boxes) allocated to teachers of the Arnold-Reymond college as well as to members of the municipal administration, holders of a specific macaroon.

A couple dances with enthusiasm in a parking lot, surrounded by cars and trees in the background.

“The levels -1 and -2 of this car park are often under -occupied, which is why a rigorous evaluation of the potential of these spaces would be profitable,” continues Marina Rougemont. Perhaps it would be possible that a majority of cars parked currently in the 32 spaces of the upper floor can be parked on the lower floors or in the pully-center car park, the 526 spaces could part of the Parking needs

The idea is not badly welcomed to the municipality: “We will have to see how these 32 parking spaces could be absorbed elsewhere, reacts Lucas Girardet, municipal. This reflection on a in use of the upper surface is interesting. Moreover, the renovation and extension project of the Arnold Reymond complex also offers a rehabilitation of the upper part of the parking lot, but in Skatepark. This proposal does not appear within the formal perimeter of the mandate, but it testifies to a spontaneous architectural interest in a possible reallocation of this car park (classified as note 2). ”

To further justify the request for the reallow of the site, Marina Rougemont underlines the frequent presence of Vans or Camping-Cars which occupy sustainably places on the upper floor, while these are supposed to be for temporary use. Last September, a “Park (ING) Day” was organized by the association active trafic in the Fau-Blanc parking lot. The action aimed to reclaim public space by temporarily occupying parking spaces.
