On the quays of Ouchy in Lausanne, and under a burnt, Vincent Pellissier seems a little uncomfortable when pose for the photographer. From this Thursday, May 1, he will run the General Navigation Company on Lake Geneva (CGN) and its 250 employees. The barely passed fifties, the voice slightly shown and the vocabulary rather chastised, he maintains that “it is the good age for a new challenge”. He analyzes: “We will have to invest in our infrastructure but we have real growth potential.” He reformulates, more lyrical: “The CGN is a nugget which only asks to reveal itself.”
Head of the Valais service for mobility for ten years, he obtained his engine navigation license on his land, in Bouveret. Steam of 1915 and embodiment of the company, the Simplon will have to be repaired after suffering from the bad weather of April 2024. A succession of human errors explains the damage. The operating director has lost his place. The CGN might seem in crisis. For Vincent Pellissier, “this event aroused emotion but the situation is not so serious”. In his new functions, he hopes to “connect the lake to the territory”. He smiles: “In Valais too, I tried to rethink public space.”
