At the end of a return semi-final of an exceptional intensity, Inter Milan qualified for the final of the Champions League by beating FC Barcelona 4-3 after extension (3-3 on the outward journey), Tuesday evening at San Siro.
The match started ideally for the men of Simone Inzaghi with the opening of the scoring by Lautaro Martinez (21st), served by Denzel Dumfries, particularly inspired since his return from injury.
Hakan çalhanoglu doubled the penalty spot (42nd) after a fault by Pau Cubarsi on Martinez.
On the return from the locker room, the Catalans overturned the situation with three goals signed Eric Garcia (54th), Dani Olmo (60th) and Raphinha (87th).
The Nerazzurri, carried by a San Siro in boiling, nevertheless torn off the extension thanks to a saving goal from Francesco Acerbi in the last moments of the meeting. It was ultimately Davide Frattesi who scored the decisive goal in the 99th minute, propelling Inter to his second C1 final in three years.
The Milanese will face on May 31 in Munich the winner of the other semi-final who opposed Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, in the hope of winning their fourth Champions League, two years after their defeat in the final against Manchester City (1-0).
