Jeff Gorton would indeed be one of the candidates for the post of next director general of the new York Islanders.
The journalist for The Athletic Arthur Staple reported on Tuesday that the Long Island club would have asked for permission to the Montreal Canadian to chat with his vice-president of hockey operations.

Former CEO of the New York Rangers and temporary workers at the same position with Boston Bruins, Gorton has gravitated around the National League since the 1990s. His knowledge of the big apple market makes it an interesting candidate for the “Isles”.
